BNI: Rebuilding Schenectady

Since its inception in 1966, BNI has focused on the renovation of homes the Hamilton Hill and Vale neighborhoods of Schenectady, New York. Homes are sold at or below cost to first-time home buyers with limited resources. Individuals benefit from affordable high-quality homes. The community benefits from an improved housing stock, resident ownership, and a stronger tax base.

Since 1992, BNI has built or substantially renovated 97 units of housing in its core service area. New homeowners have invested $2,825,075 in these neighborhoods while leveraging substantial public and private investment.
