BNI: Rebuilding Schenectady

BNI offers free consultation to residents of Schenectady County; or to individuals relocating to Schenectady County. Although our counseling services are offered at no charge, beginning May 1st, 2011, folks will need to pay $13.50 as we are required by HUD to run a credit report.

Housing counseling does not replace the services of a real estate broker, lender or attorney but provides information and guidance before, during and after the purchase of a home through workshops and personal consultation. For more information, call (518) 372-6469.

	Homebuyer Education If you are a first-time home buyer, BNI can: Help you prepare for a successful and affordable home purchase. Assist you in addressing savings, credit, and debt issues. Evaluate unusual financing options. Link you to special programs for homebuyers. Provide guidance throughout the home buying process. Get started by attending our workshops!

	Foreclosure Prevention If you have fallen behind on your mortgage, BNI can: Answer your questions regarding the foreclosure process. Assist you in evaluating your options. Assist you in pursuing alternatives to foreclosure. Assist you in developing a realistic budget.
	Technical Assistance If have questions about the home you own, BNI can: Assist you in obtaining resources for repairs and/or weatherization of your home. Provide advice on rental management, maintenance, and other homeowner concerns.
