A Better-Neighborhoods renovation
For nearly 50 years,
Better Neighborhoods Inc. has improved the quality of life in our
community by rehabilitating and building homes in Schenectady. Our goal
is to increase homeownership in Schenectady.
We offer programs for
both first-time homebuyers and long-time residents.
Homebuyer Education and Pre-Purchase
Counseling - We can help you learn how to buy a home. Our
workshop series covers topics including home inspections, financing
options and more. Clients also receive no cost, one-on-one
counseling on budgeting, savings, credit repair and home purchase.
Our goal is to help clients buy an affordable home.
Home Renovation - Since 1966,
we have renovated hundreds of Schenectady homes. Grant financing
allows us to make extensive repairs while keeping the homes
affordable for eligible homebuyers.
Foreclosure Prevention - BNI house
counselors are skilled in helping you navigate foreclosure
proceedings. We will help you understand your options, what steps
you can take, and tell you the most likely outcome. We have
experience working with banks and the courts on solving foreclosure
problems and we’ll do our best to make sure you can actively manage
this process. Call us today- or contact us-
so we can help you through this difficult process.
New Home Building - BNI also
builds new homes. Check out our new homes currently for sale.
